Russian Education fair in city on May 10, 11
Eleven leading Russian Government Medical and Engineering Universities would participate in an education fair to be held here on May ten and 11 at the Russian Cultural Centre.
Talking to reporters here today, Dimitry V Lomakin, Vice Consul of the Russian Consulate in South India, said students carrying copy of 12th standard mark sheets would be taken on spot admission.
"The education fair is being conducted to provide more information for students, who want to know how to obtain admission to graduate and post graduate courses in Russian Universities, imparting worldclass programmes including medicine and engineering courses", he added.
Scholarship seats for eligible students provided by the individual institutions and by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation would be granted as part of the fair which would include free tuition and accommodation.
Similar education fairs were also held in New Delhi and Kolkata.
Moscow Higher School of Economics, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Kazan Federal University, Kuban State Technical University, Volgograd State Medical University, Kazan State Medical University, Orenburg State Medical University, Kursk State Medical University, Tver State Medical Academy, Volgograd State technical University would take part in the education fair.
The Academic year starts from the September one 2014. Each academic year is of two semesters. Annual holidays will be for two months in July and August.
Depending upon the University, place of study and course, the fee structure differs from USD 1200 to USD 4000 per year in the case of Russian Medium instruction.
In in the case of instruction in English Medium fee could be USD 2400 to USD 6500 per year.
Currently, there are about 5000 Indian students studying at various engineering, arts and science, and medical institutions in Russia.
