The Haryana Government has constituted a Pre-Screening Committee for Project under National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP).

Stating this here today, an Agriculture department spokesman said members of the committee include Director Generals of Horticulture and Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Director, Fisheries Department, Managing Directors of HAFED, Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, Haryana Seeds Development Corporation and Haryana State Seed Certification Agency and any other head of Department, Agency, Corporation or Organisation whose projects are to be placed before State Level Sanctioning Committee for approval or implementation in future. He said Director General, Agriculture Department has been appointed as Member Secretary of the Committee.

He said the Pre-Screening Committees for Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar and Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Vice-Chancellors of respective Universities.

He said Representative of Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Head of Concerned Department of respective Universities has been appointed as Members of the Committees whereas Director of Research of both universities has been appointed as Member Secretary of the respective Committees.

The spokesman said the Pre-Screening Committees would do screening of all the Detailed Project Reports linkage to District Agriculture Plan, Sustainable Agriculture Infrastructure Development Program and State Agriculture Plan and their adherence to the NADP guidelines.

The committees would also certify that funds available under other schemes of the state government or Central government for the proposed projects have been accessed and utilised before they are brought under the NADP umbrella, he added.
