Confusion over Modi's rally at Beniabagh, Ganga Aarti at Varanasi's
BJP was adamant to hold the campaigning programme of BJP's prime ministrial candidate Narendra Modi here tomorrow, even as the district authorities have not permitted him to hold his rally at Beniabagh ground and attend the Ganga Aarti programme at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
The authorities have, however, given permission to hold another rally at Jagatpur in Rohania on the outskirts of Varanasi tomorrow.
Reports said the authorities has asked the BJP to choose an alternative rally ground in place of Beniabagh and it is expected that the rally could be held at a ground in Cantonment area.
Meanwhile, UP BJP in Lucknow has released the programme of Mr Modi for tomorrow's and has included the rally at Beniabagh and attending the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
As per the programme, Mr Modi will address a rally in Azamgarh at 1200 hrs, at Lalganj at 1320 hrs and later will address a rally at Chandauli.
He will then address his first election meeting in Varanasi at Rohania at 1600 hrs and then will attend the Ganga Aarit at 1730 hrs at Dashashwamedh ghat and thereafter, will meet the eminent persons of Varanasi.
At 2000 hrs, he will address a public meeting in Beniabagh.
However, some BJP leaders giving a new twist over the Ganga Aarti, said that if it is banned, then Mr Modi will go for ' Nauka Vihar' (Boat ride) on Ganga.
BJP leaders also blamed the ruling Samajwadi Party for creating hurdle in giving permission to Mr Modi's campaigning in Varanasi.
But, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Choudhury told UNI here today that Beniabagh has already been booked by one India Foundation for tomorrow.
'It is wrong to say that we have influenced the Varanasi authorities in refusing the permission. It is totally wrong to blame us,' Mr Choudhury said.
He also claimed that the Varanasi authorities have given permission to 96 campaigning programmes of the BJP in Varanasi including that of Mr Modi.
