Preparation for 'Simhastha Kumbh' reviewed
In view of the 'Simhastha Kumbh' scheduled to take place in this temple town in 2016, Divisional Commissioner Shiv Shekhar Shukla has directed all the officials concerned to complete development related works with quality before rainy season.
Mr Shukla yesterday chaired the Simhastha review meeting with various departments concerned.
The meeting was informed that Rudra Sagar pond was being renovated with a cost of Rs 11 crore wherein 1,068 metre-long pipeline had been laid and 92 per cent work was completed.
The Public Works Department informed that an amount of Rs 2.19 crore has been spent on the construction of the Badnagar-Ujjain Road, Rs 12.97 crore on Dewas-Maksi MR-10 link road and Rs 2.23 crore on Maksi-Agar MR-5 link-road.
Construction of a few bridges were completed by around 50 per cent.
The railway engineer informed that a work plan of Rs 26.95 crore has been prepared for building foot over bridge and providing other facilities for Simhastha. 50 per cent amount will be provided by the state government in these works.
