Over 55.59 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has so far arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season.

Stating this here today, a Food and Supplies department spokesman said the government agencies had procured 55.57 lakh MT of wheat whereas 1355 MT had been purchased by traders.

He said HAFED had purchased highest 20.53 lakh MT of wheat followed by 15.85 lakh MT by Food and Supplies department. Similarly, Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 4.96 lakh MT, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 5.62 lakh MT, CONFED 1.38 lakh MT and Food Corporation of India had procured 7.22 lakh MT of wheat during current procurement season so far, he added.

He said district Sirsa is leading in the wheat arrival where 7.72 lakh MT of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by Karnal with 6.11 lakh MT.

Similarly, 5.56 lakh MT wheat arrived in Jind, 4.13 lakh MT in district Kurukshetra, 5.72 lakh MT in Kaithall, 5.63 lakh MT in Fatehabad, 2.82 lakh MT of wheat in Sonipat, 2.42 lakh MT in Panipat, 1.96 lakh MT in Palwal, 3.70 lakh MT in Hisar, 1.91 lakh MT in Rohtak, 1.81 lakh MT in Ambala, 88,854 MT in Faridabad, 42,132 MT in Gurgaon, 1.07 lakh MT in Jhajjar, 1.43 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 1.64 lakh MT in Bhiwani, 19,482 MT in Narnaul, 42,497 MT in Mewat and 20,945 MT wheat arrived in various mandis in Panchkula.
