Alert sounded in UP after Chennai blast
Uttar Pradesh government has issued a high alert in the state in view of today's two blasts in a train at Chennai railway station.
DGP office here today issued a circular to all the district, particularly of eastern UP where polling is scheduled on May 7 and 12 to be more attentive in security matters.
The circular directed the districts to step up patrolling and checking at the hotels, bus stands and railway stations.
Patrolling at the Indo-Nepal border should also be intensified, the direction said.
A total of 33 Lok Sabha seats are going to polls in the next two phases in UP on May 7 and 12 covering entire eastern UP adjoining Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand along with Nepal.
