Jaya condemns train blasts , announces solatium, relief
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today condemned those responsible for setting off the blasts in the Guwahati-Bangalore Superfast Express at Chennai Central station this morning which claimed one life and left several others injured, and expressed grief and condolences to the families of the victims.
In a statement here, Ms Jayalalithaa also announced a solatium of Rs one lakh to the family of the deceased, a 24 year-old woman.
She also announced relief of Rs 50,000 each for those who had sustained serious injuries in the blast and Rs 25,000 each for those who sustained minor injures.
The solatium and the relief amounts were being given from Chief Minister's General Relief Fund, she added.
Ms Jayalalithaa, allaying fears of the people of the state, said she had issued orders to the police to act swiftly and apprehend those who were responsible for the ghastly act. They would be brought to book, she assured the people.
