The Common Entrance Test (KCET), conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority for admission for government quota in professional courses will be held across the state on May 1 and 2.

The test is held to test the eligibility of the candidates seeking admissions to various undergraduate and professional courses in Engineering, Medicine and Homeopathy courses.

KEA sources said the tests would be conducted in in 314 examination centres, of which 70 were in the city.

As many as 1,40,461 candidates, who have passed the two year pre-university course, will take the test to get seats in professional undergraduate courses like engineering, medicine and others.

A KEA official said total of 314 observers, 628 special invigilation squad members, 314 custodians and around 8,782 invigilators and 15,560 other officers have been deployed for CET duty.

For 1,660 Horanadu (Kannadigas who live outside the state) and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates, the Kannada language test will be conducted on May 3 at three centres in Bangalore.

Following is the schedule: May 1: Biology - 10.30am to 11.50am; Maths - 2.30pm to 3.50pm.

May 2: Physics - 10.30am to 11.50am; Chemistry - 2.30pm to 3.50pm. May 3: Kannada language test 11.30am to 12.30 pm.

Courses covered under KCET include Medical, Dental (MBBS/BDS) Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy, and Yoga (ISM and H) Engineering, Technology (BE, B. Tech), Architecture (B. Arch) BSc in Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agri-Biotech, Horticulture, Home Science Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry BTech in Food Tech, Dairy Technology, Fisheries Science, Food Science and Technology, Ag Marketing and Co-operation and Agricultural Engineering.
