At least eight people, including four children were killed and eight others injured in two road accidents in Andhra Pradesh today.

In Kadapa, six people, including five of a family, were killed and five others injured when a van in which they were travelling rammed into a tree near Rajampeta town, police said here. The deceased also included three children.

The ill-fated van was proceeding to Tirupati from Mahabubnagar when the incident occurred.

The injured persons were admitted to the RIMS hospital in Kadapa while the vehicle driver, Syudulu, whose condition was serious, was shifted to Tirupati for further treatment.

In another accident, at Nellore, two persons including mother and son were killed and three others injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling dashed against a stationary lorry at Yellakuru mandal.

The injured are shifted to local area government hospital, police added.
