Prof Jayakumar, Director Department of Extension and career Guidance Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore today underlined the need for updating the course curriculam so as to enable the students to develop their skills.


Prof Jayakumar made this observation while delivering the key note address of the one day Skills conclave jointly organised by the UTL techgnologies and the Bharathidasan University Tiruchirapalli,(BDU-T) here, also pointed out that at present only 15 to 20 per cent of the students have cleared their aptitude test, and we should try to improve this percentage further.

He also pointed out that the Multinational companies who is for fresher's recruitment need a qualitative and skilled freshers and under this typical situation we should work for developing the skills of the student community to enable them to face a stiff competition for securing jobs, he added.

Among others including Dr Gopinath Ganapathy, Director BDU-Ts Technical park, Srinivas Raju Divisional head UTL technologies and others spoke on the occassion.

As part of the programme number of colleges have signed MOU with the UTL technologies.
