Chief of Naval staff in Eastern Naval Command
Admiral R K Dhowan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, the Chief of the Naval Staff arrived here today on his first visit to the Eastern Naval Command(ENC) after assuming office on April 17.
According to ENC spokesman, the Admiral is accompanied by wife Minu Dhowan, President Navy Wives Welfare Association.
Admiral Dhowan, the 22nd Chief of the Indian Navy, is a specialist in Navigation and Direction. In his long and distinguished service spanning nearly 40 years, he has served in a multitude of Command, Staff and Instructional appointments.
Admiral Dhowan's Sea Commands include commands of guided missile corvette INS Khukri, guided missile destroyers INS Ranjit and INS Delhi, after his elevation to Flag rank.
The Admiral served in the Integrated Headquarters as the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Policy and Plans) and thereafter commanded the Eastern Fleet as Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet.
He has also served as the Chief of Staff at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command.
The Chief of the Naval Staff is scheduled to review a Ceremonial Parade, address personnel, and visit combat units of the Command.
Admiral Dhowan will departure here from May 1.
