Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne, retired Chief of the Air Staff, has been named as India's next Ambassador to Norway.

Announcing his appointment here today, the Ministry of External Affairs said that he was expected to take up his assignment shortly.

Air Chief Marshal Browne was Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) from July, 2011 to December, 2013.

He was Vice Chief of the Air Staff when he replaced the outgoing Air Chief Marshal Pradeep Vasant Naik.
