Hyderabad City Police commissioner Anurag Sharma today said that over 20,000 security personnel will be deployed in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to maintain law and order and for peaceful conduct of the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls on April 30.

Addressing a press conference, Mr.Anurag said that in the first phase of general elections in Andhra Pradesh, 2 parliamentary and 15 assembly constituencies will go to polls on April 30 in Hyderabad city. All security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and for smooth conducts of polls, he said adding more than 20,000 forces including 14,000 personnel from city police besides 37 companies of central para-military forces and 8 companies of Andhra Pradesh Special Police will be deployed at various places of the city. Elections will be held in 3,442 polling stations in over 1,414 polling locations across the city and out of this 197 have been categorised as hyper-critical and 304 as critical and additional forces will be deployed at such places, he said.

Besides setting up of 1,013 pickets, the Commissioner said 381 mobile parties will also cover all the polling stations in the city to ensure that there are no untoward incidents and disruption to law and order. To maintain public order and peace, also issued prohibitory orders around radius of 200 meters from the polling stations , the police chief added.
