Delhi election official gets national award
Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev was Saturday conferred the Election Commission of India (ECI) National Award for best electoral practices.
The award was presented by President Pranab Mukherjee at a programme held at Vigyan Bhavan on the occasion of National Voters' Day.
Dedicating the award to all electoral officials in Delhi, Vijay Dev said it would not have been possible without the support of 85,000 civil administration officials and 50,000 police personnel involved in the electoral process.
On the Lok Sabha elections, he said: "We have a bigger responsibility, and we are totally geared up and want to set a higher benchmark."
