Funds released for tackling drinking water problem
The District Administration has released Rs 3.3 crore to tackle drinking water problem in the District, Deputy Commissioner N V Prasad said today.
Speaking at a review meeting chaired by District incharge Secretary Ravikumar, he said that Rs 73.92 lakh will be used for drinking water works in urban areas, Rs 1.72 crores in rural areas and Rs 87.50 lakhs for repairs of roads and buildings damaged due to rain and for repairs of infrastructure facilities.
Mr Prasad said there is no dearth of funds for taking up drinking water works or tackling drought. Of the sanctioned 162 works in the district, 156 works have been started and 145 are already completed, he said.
