Loksatta Party national President Jayaprakash Narayan today said he would support BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi because he was committed to providing jobs to youth by reviving the manufacturing sector and ensuring good governance.

The UPA Government has squandered a golden opportunity given to it for the last 10 years by indulging in and promoting corruption, destroying the economy by neglecting the manufacturing sector and resorting to politics of temporary sops to garner votes, he said.

Addressing a media conference, Dr Narayan said that voters in Malkajgiri from where he is contesting for the Lok Sabha have already decided to vote against the Congress.

Dr Narayan described Mr Modi as a genuine leader who rose from the ranks. It is a matter of pride for Indian democracy that we have today a leader whose credentials have nothing to do with dynasty, caste, religion or money power.

He recalled that he had told Mr Modi at Begumpet airport during his Hyderabad visit that India has to create at least 10 million jobs a year as 15 million people are entering the workforce every year. As of now, India is providing jobs to just to 10 to 15 per cent of people entering the workforce.

The 16th Lok Sabha polls in scheduled here on April 30.
