Rs 30 lac cash robbed in bus from gold merchants
The robbers struck a KSRTC luxury bus going from this city of Karnataka to Kozhikode in Kerala late last night and robbed Rs 30 lakh cash from two gold merchants after abducting them.
Police said the robbers, who seemed to have prior information about the jewellers followed the bus in a car even as it left Satellite bus station on Mysore road and stopped it on the outskirts of the city and barged into the bus brandishing lethal weapons.
They abducted the two jewellers Alim and Sadiq and took away in their car and fled. Later, they robbed the cash which they kept and threw them out near Kengeri satellite town.
IGP Ulfat Hussain said bus driver Prasanna Kumar filed a complaint and a team was formed to nab the culprits.
Police said the culprits were in the age group of 25 to 30 years and wearing Jacket and T shirt.
Alim and Sadiq were working in a Jewellery shop owned by Abbas at Willson Garden in the city and the miscreants followed them and robbed the money after kidnapping.
