Security strengthened at religious places in Varanasi, Ayodhya
Uttar Pradesh government today directed the concerned authorities to strengthen the security in religious places in Varanasi and Ayodhya.
State Principal Secretary (Home) Anil Kumar Gupta today visited Kashi Vishwanath Mandir/Gyan Vapi Masjid campus in Varanasi and Ramjanam Bhoomi/Babri Masjid campus in Faizabad to further streamline the security arrangements there.
The security arrangements at these places are quarterly reviewed by the senior officers.
Besides, Principal Secretary Religious Endowment Navneet Sehgal, Home Secretary Sanjay Prasad, Mr Gupta was accompanied by the DGP A L Banerjee, ADGP Law and Order Mukul Goel, ADGP Security Gopal Gupta and the joint director IB, S Rajan.
Mr Gupta held discussions with officers posted there for maintaining security arrangements and directed to fulfil their duties with sincerity and alertness.
He also directed the officers to ensure proper use of the CCTV, metal detector and other equipments by keeping them in proper condition in regular manner.
He also directed the officers to keep a close watch on the suspicious activities of anti social elements and ensure effective action against them in order to maintain peaceful and cordial atmosphere in the state.
