CBI Spl court directs probe into TRS Chief's assets
A special CBI court here today directed the CBI to probe the assets of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and his nephew T Harish Rao (party's MLA from Siddipet) and Medak MP M Vijayashanti.
The court issued the orders based on a private complainant filed earlier by one Y Balaji Vadera seeking directions to the CBI to register a FIR and inquire into the disproportionate assets of Mr Rao, Harish Rao and Ms Vijayashanti.
Ms Vijayashanti, who earlier elected from Medak Lok sabha seat on TRS, is contesting now from Medak Assembly constituency on Congress ticket.
The CBI would approach the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the special court orders as it is not within its powers to order such an investigation.
Along with the complaint filed before the court, Balaji enclosed a compact disc containing a speech of suspended TRS leader M Raghunandan Rao, who levelled charges of extortion of money against the TRS president, his nephew and M Vijayashanti.
Reacting over the CBI's enquirty into his assets as directed by a Special Court, TRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao alleged that the enquiry and investigations were part of Congress's conspiracy.
Welcoming the enquiry, he said he was ready for any probe into his assets. 'It is a part of Congress's conspiracy', he said.
He alleged that Congress is using CBI to do its bidding, before the elections.
Welcoming CBI's inquiry, Vijayashanthi said ' Investigation can be done from today itself.
Public will know the truth if probe is conducted,' she said.
She made it clear that she has not committed any mistakes.
