NC reinforced alienation just to avail benefit from it in polls: PDP
Accusing National Conference of reinforcing alienation in Kashmir by targeting all sections of the society to avail benefit from it in Anantanag parliamentary constituency, PDP claimed that the hatred against the ruling party is so widespread and deep-rooted that even an enforced boycott could not help it.
Addressing various roadside meetings in Charar-e-Sharif segment of Srinagar parliamentary constituency, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said central and north Kashmir will complete the whitewash of the NC in the state as the voters of Anantanag parliamentary constituency set the trend for change in yesterday's polling braving heavy odds.
Ms Mufti said the people are now able to clearly see and find the difference between the two parties.
The PDP president said the performance of the Omar-led government has been "disastrous" over the past more than five years during which the people had to face tremendous hardships.
Alleging that under the present regime corruption has touched new heights in the state and power scenario has gone abysmal, Ms Mufti said the development process has taken a back foot, there is growth stagnation prevailing and policy paralysis has created havoc in the system which is also responsible for the disillusionment among people.
She blamed the Omar-led government for its failure to tackle growing unemployment among the educated youth.
Ms Mufti said the PDP has a clear vision and agenda for the development of the state, and the party will pursue it vigorously to get the state out of this prevailing mess and for that people have to give the party a decisive mandate in the elections.
