Ramdev sparks controversial statement against Rahul Gandhi
Launching yet another salvo at Congress, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, making rather an unsavoury comment, today said that the visits of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to Dalit villages were like 'honeymoon and picnic'.
"Rahul cannot marry a 'desi' girl as he is interested in the 'videshi' but he goes to Dalit villages for 'honeymoon and picnic'," he said, while claiming that he and BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi are bachelors for bigger cause.
Though Ramdev made the unpalatable remark for Mr Gandhi, but feigned his ignorance about Jashodaben, the estranged wife of Mr Modi.
Alleging that frustrated Congress could even manipulate the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) as they were on the verge of defeat in the elections, the yoga guru said that most of the UPA Ministers would go to jail for their involvement in corruption.
Addressing a press conference here, Ramdev, holding a Yoga Diksha programme in the state capital, said that Mr Gandhi had a 'childish brain' and claimed that in no way the Congress vice-president could win the elections from Amethi this time.
"I will be campaigning in Amethi on April 30 and will ensure that people come forward against Congress, which has plundered the country for the last 65 years," he said, adding that he had spared Congress president Sonia Gandhi and would not campaign against her in Rae Bareli, as she was ill.
"AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has worked hard in Amethi for the past couple of months but BJP's Smriti Irani will be the ultimate gainer, who will defeat Mr Gandhi," he claimed.
Ramdev said that he will move to Varanasi on May 3 to have a glimpse of Modi wave in the temple city and would also go to Asansol in West Bengal, where he claimed BJP candidate and singer Babul Supriyo would be the winner this time.
