Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JVM(P) supremo Babulal Marandi today demanded a high level probe by CBI or the NIA into the naxal attack at Shikaripara which had claimed 8 lives.


Holding the ruling party coalition responsible for the maoist attack Mr Marandi said that para-millitary forces were nor deployed on sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations despite repeated requests.

'District administration were under the pressure of the state government and the incident was a result of lack of responsibility which claimed lives of 8 people including 5 policemen,' he said.

'The state government and district administration are responsible for the negligent attitude and i request the election commission to order a CBI or NIA probe and keep away district administration and police officials from the election process,' he said.

Others included JVM(P) general secretary Pradeep Yadav and Pintu Aggarwal.
