Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren alongwith senior police and administrative officials today said tributes to the victims of who were killed yesterday in Shikaripara Maoist attack.


Apart from Hemant Soren, former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM supremo Shibu Soren, DGP Rajiv Kumar and various senior police and administrative officials joined the common people in offering their tributes.

Expressing his condolence Mr Hemant Soren said, he saluted the spirit of the jawans and the members of the polling party who laid down their lives ensuring success of the democracy.

'The state government will provide all needed facilities to the family members of slain jawans and members of the polling party,' he said.

Yesterday, altogether eight people were killed including five policeman and two members of the polling party and the bus cleaner, while 10 others were injured as ultras of the proscribed CPI Maoist triggered a land mine explosion at Sarsajor Asna under Shikaripara police station area of this district.
