A group of transgenders today resorted to a road blockade near Marappalam.

According to police, a few transgenders came to a Sivan temple near the Indira Gandhi statue and the priest of the temple allegedly used vulgar language against them.

Protesting against this, the community demanding immediate arrest of Ramalingam, the temple priest.

Reddiyarpalayam police held talks with them and assured that action would be initiated against Ramalingam if they gave a complaint.

Following this, the transgenders complained and police registered case against Ramalingam and later they called off their stir.

The traffic was also halted for sometime due to their stir.
