Cong alone can provide secular govt: Suba Somu
The Congress could alone provide a secular government to the people of the country besides protecting the interest of the minorities, according to Tamil Nadu Congress vice-president Suba.Somu.
Mr Somu made this observation while canvassing votes for Congress nominee for the Tiuchirapalli Lok Sabha Sarubala Thondaiman in different places of in and around city. He also pointed out the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre was very keen on providing safety and security to the people and for this, the UPA government had implemented several welfare measures in the last ten years.
Both the DMK and the AIADMK ruled Tamil Nadu one after another and totally spoilt the development of the state, especially in adding the new power generation which resulted in the state reeling under darkness in many places for months together.
He said there was an overwhelming response among the people towards the Congress and due to the decision of facing this election on its own, the party workers were also very jubiliant and it would reflect in the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections.
He called up on the voters to cast their votes in favour of Congress Candidate Sarubala Thondaiman.
Ms Sarubala Thondaiman accompanied by the District Congress President Jerom Arokia Raj, R C Babu and others flagged off a Congress rally in front of the Railway Junction.
She winded up her electioneering at the end of the rally which culminated at Srirangam.
