A day after completing her more than month-long campaigning, AIADMK Supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today appealed to the first time young voters to vote for her party's 'Two Leaves' symbol in the April 24 Lok Sabha polls.

In a statement here, she appealed to the voters to vote for her party's candidates in all the 40 Lok Sabha seats (39 in TN and the lone seat in Pondy) and also in the Alandur Assembly bypoll and ensure their victory.

"Especially, the first time young voters should realise the importance of their vote and cast it in favour of the AIADMK, which has been functioning with the single-minded goal of keeping the people's welfare in mind", she said.

There were nearly 62 lakh first time voters. They along with 67 lakh voters in the 18-25 age group (constituting 12.60 per cent of the total 5,50,42,876 electorate in the State) would be the deciding factors in the elections.
