Over 31.53 lakh tonnes wheat arrives in Haryana mandis
More than 31.53 lakh tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season.
Stating this here today, a Food and Supplies department spokesman said that the government agencies have procured 31,52,845 tonnes of wheat whereas, 162 tonnes of wheat have been purchased by traders.
He said that HAFED has purchased highest 10.55 lakh tonnes of wheat followed by 9.62 lakh by Food and Supplies department.
Similarly, Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 2.55 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 3.28 lakh tonnes, CONFED 75,105 tonnes and Food Corporation of India had procured 4.75 lakh tonnes of wheat during current procurement season so far.
He said that Karnal district is leading in the wheat arrival, where 4.56 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by Kaithal with 4.53 lakh tonnes.
Similarly, 3.26 lakh tonnes wheat arrived in Jind, 2.80 lakh tonnes in district Kurukshetra, 2.30 lakh tonnes in Sonipat, 1.71 lakh tonnes in Palwal, 1.72 lakh tonnes in Panipat and 2.27 lakh tonnes in Sirsa.
Fatehabad 1.94 lakh tonnes received 82,426 tonnes in Faridabad, 1.06 lakh tonnes in Ambala, 37,552 tonnes in Gurgaon, 60,753 tonnes in Jhajjar, one lakh tonnes in Rohtak, 33,821 tonnes in Yamunanagar, 45,649 tonnes in Bhiwani, 10183 tonnes in Narnaul, 1.04 lakh tonnes in Hisar, 28,330 tonnes in Mewat and 7549 tonnes wheat arrived in various mandis of Panchkula, the spokesman added.
