Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav today filed his nomination papers from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.


Mr Yadav took out a road show from the bus Chowk area soon after filing his nomination before the Returning Officer in three sets. His proposers were SP MLA Abhay Narayan Patel, Transport minister Durga Prasad and minister of state for Education Waseem Ahmad. He will address an election meeting later in the day.

The SP supremo, who is also the former UP CM, is contesting from Azamgarh and Mainpuri seats of the state.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and MP Ramakant Yadav and Rajesh Yadav of the Aam Admi Party also filed their nominations from the seat.

The parlaimentary constituency is going to polls in the sixth and last phase of parliamentary elections in UP on May 12.
