Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi arrived here today to undertake a whirlwind tour of Telangana to woo the voters and brighten electoral prospects of BJP and its poll partner TDP in the ensuing general elections.


Mr Modi arrived in Nizamabad by a helicopter from Maharashtra.

In his first visit after the announcement of creation of Telangana, Mr Modi will start his campaign from Nizamabad. He will also address rallies in Karimnagar and Mahabubnagar.

He will round off his visit with an address at the 'Bharat Vijay' rally in the Lal Bahadur stadium in the city. TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and actor and founder president of Jana Sena Party Pavan Kalyan will share the dais with Mr Modi at the 'Bharat vijay' rally.

Mr Naidu will also address along with Mr Modi at the Mahabubnagar meeting. BJP national spokespersons-and in charge of the party's Andhra affairs Prakash Javadekar will also address.

Police have imposed traffic restrictions in parts of the city in view of the meeting.
