Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who had resigned from the Congress party over bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, has opted out of the state elections on May 7, reports said.

Reddy, a four-time MLA, was expected to file his nomination papers from Pileru in Chittor district, on Saturday, which was the last date for filing nominations.
