New Delhi, Apr 19 : Alleging bribery, the Congress has demanded the arrest of yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Rajasthan's Alwar constituency, Mahant Chand Nath, said reports on Saturday.
According to reports, the Congress has requested the Election Commission (EC) to investigate a video clip showing Ramdev and Nath discussing exchange of money. The ruling party also urged the Commission to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the duo.
Pertinently, on Wednesday, during a press conference Ramdev was caught on camera whispering to Nath not to discuss money with the microphones on.
The video clip showed Nath saying he could not bring money for Ramdev, to which the yoga guru said: "Stop talking here about this. The mics are on. Are you a fool?"
However, the BJP said Ramdev made no such comment.
"We have seen the video. No such conversation took place between the two. Still, the EC is most welcome to investigate the matter," said BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Voting will be held in Alwar on Apr 24.
