BJP objects to Sonia's statement on formation of Telangana
The BJP today objected to AICC President Sonia Gandhi's statement that BJP had obstructed the AP State Reorganization Bill when it was presented in Parliament.
In a statement here, party spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao claimed that Congress had no strength to pass any bills without BJP support, leave alone AP State Bifurcation Bill.
"If at all anyone can legitimately claim credit for achieving Telangana, it is only BJP," he said.
He said the Congress public rally was a 'flop show'. "Neither they could establish any rapport with the people of Telangana with their illegitimate claims nor could they showcase any strength. It is evident that Congress party even in this region is in 'defeated mind set' on the anvil of their certain & miserable defeat across the country in the days to come, in the run up for the General and Assembly elections 2014," he said.
"Ms Gandhi calling BJP a 'Religious fundamentalist' party is like 'Devil rendering vedas'. In an open, defiant and non secular spirit the leader of Congress has met the religious head of Islam in Delhi and sought religious vote. In her recent address to the nation through an advertisement, she clearly divided the voters on religious lines and sought their support, Mr Rao alleged.
BJP coalition in Telangana had set a mission of 65 + 10 [MLA & MP] and the party workers and leaders were working in tandem with alliance partner TDP to ensure consolidation and transfer of vote in all the seats we both are contesting across the Telangana State, he said.
"BJP coalition can only ensure development and progress for Telangana State with its rich experience and established good governance and developmental track record in all BJP ruled states since 15-20 years. Governments of Gujarat, MP, Goa, Chattisgarh, Rajastan are exemplary in their governance and people centric rule. Telangana State needs BJP government to ensure 'Telangana Pragathi," Mr Rao added.
