Police said Mr Bashir Sab died following cardiac arrest while being on polling duty at Harogeri booth in Raibag taluk of Belgaum district.

Mr Gangaiah, an employee of Dabbeghatta Gram Panchayat, who was on election duty, died due to cardiac arrest. He had reported to the polling duty last evening at Government Boys School at Turuvekere. However, officials stated that he died last night.

In Bangalore an aged person died due to heart attack after exercising his franchise in a booth at Kengeri in the outskirts of the city.

At Mangalore Mudukedde Government School booth a 70-year-old Gangu died due to heart attack while returning after casting his vote.

In Chamarajanagara a 60-year-old Chandramma collapsed and died on the spot after casting her vote at H Mukahalli booth.

A 50-year-old Manappa Bhavi died due to cardiac arrest after casting his vote at Devapura polling booth in Surapura Taluk of Yadgiri District.

Ms Sundarbai died of heart attack after casting her vote at Attikatte booth in a Government Primary School in Gubbi Taluk of Tumkur District.
