Dakshin Maitrey, a multimode south India adventure cum perception management Rally, was flagged off by Brigadier Samir Salunke, Station Commander, Pangode Military Station, here today.


The rally will traverse different parts of four southern states using the modes of motorcycle, cycle and back water rafting and culminating at Secunderabad by covering 2100 Kms in nine days, a press release said.

The spirited team is being led by Lt.Anurag Varma, one JCO and regiment soldiers. Apart from promoting spirit of adventure, the rally is aimed at promoting national integration, motivating the youth of south India to join the armed forces, reaching out the ex-servicemen and next of kin of valiant martyrs to render all possible support.

The team also conduct road show/seminars to sensitise rural youth about role of Indian Army and the career opportunities in armed forces. Pangode Military Station Dy Commander Col CS Unnithan, 7 Madras Regiment Commanding Officer Col Dushyant Jolly and other officers were present on this occasion.
