Spain, Argentina, Brazil have the most expensive squads in world football
Media reports have revealed that out of the 32 sides competing in the FIFA World Cup in June this summer, Spain, Argentina and Brazil have the most expensive squads.
According to reports the Spain, who are the reigning World Cup champions, squad is worth at an estimated 486.9 million euros, ahead of 474.1 million euros for Argentina and 470.2 million euros for hosts Brazil.
The German squad has been valued at 445.6 million euros with France overtook England at 398.6 million euros for Les Bleus squad to 354.2 million euros for Roy Hodgson's squad, the Dawn reported.
A consultancy has reportedly ranked Argentina and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi as the highest-valued player at 138.1 million euros despite a 1.4 percent drop in his estimated price over the past year.
The consultancy reported that the Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo's estimated value has risen 11.4 percent over the past year, but he still trails Messi by more than 30 million euros.
The consultancy will update its values after the final squads for the World Cup are unveiled on May 7, the report added.
