Development adversly affected
Former Union Health Minister and PMK youth wing leader, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss today alleged that development of the Union Territory was adversly affected because of the fight between Congress Union Minister Narayanasamy and AINRC Chief Minister Rangasamy .
"The parties in power in the UT had not ensured that the welfare schemes for the people are not implemented in the past few decades, because of the fight between two Samys' (Narayanasamy and Rangasamy), there was no development in the UT, except in Liquor and none of the governments or MPs have bothered for the welfare of the people," Anbumani Ramadoss said during an election meeting for the National Democratic Alliance's PMK candidate R K R Anantharaman.
Stating that their fight was detrimental to the growth of territory, he urged the people to support for the PMK candidate, who is in alliance with the BJP-led NDA.
The local unit of the BJP is supporting the All India NR Congress candidate, R Radhakrishnan, while PMK candidate is supported by allies Vijaykanth's DMDK, Vaiko's MDMK.
Mr Ramdoss said the issue of long pending demand for statehood for UT will be taken up with the National Democratic
Alliance (NDA), which he said, will be in power after the polls. The PMK leader said his party will pursue the issue of statehood with Narendra Modi, who will lead the country.
He claimed that only the NDA has a Prime Ministerial Narendra Modi and no other party has come out with a PM candidate.
PMK youth wing President Anbumani said he would also take up the issue of increasing the reservation from 50per cent to 69 per cent in Tamil Nadu. He added that steps will be taken raise the job opportunities and tourism promotion.He also recalled the development of JIPMER here during his tensure as the union health minister.
However, the real fight in the electoral battle is expected between Congress Union Minister Narayanasamy and AINRC candidate R Radhakrishnan.
