Baru's book on PM just confirmed well-known fact: Advani
Veteran BJP leader LK Advani today said that Prime Minister Manomahn Singh's former media advisor Sanjay Baru's book 'Accidental Prime Minister' only confirms many things that were publicly known in the world earlier about the Prime Minister by his own aide.
Speaking to mediapersons at the city airport, Mr Advani said that Mr Baru was appointed by the Prime Minister himself.
'When I referred the PM as the weakest PM among all in Indian history, many people told me that leave him, he is a nice man, and I said I had a sympathy for him, but the PM is a supreme person for any nation. The book has been published just yesterday, and this is a very important matter,' he said.
Mr Advani, who is contesting from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, arrived here for a day's visit.
While campaigning in Bavla town, he said his party will decide his role in post-election scenario in the country. He said that he has been contesting Lok Sabha polls since 1952 and this time he is contesting for the 16th Lok Sabha.
'But this time the situation is different. For the first time in the electoral history of the country, the voters have taken a decision before the polling that the present government should go and BJP should form the next government.'
When asked what could be his role in post-election scenario, Mr Advani said his party will take a decision to that effect. He said he has always abided by the party's decision. Mr Advani has been opposing the anointment of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the party's Prime Ministerial candidate.
Referring to his ties with Gujarat, Mr Advani said his family used to live in Karachi in Pakistan before indepedence but soon after the partition in 1947, his family decided to settle in twin city of Gandhidham and Adipur like many of the Sindhi community had settled there after leaving Pakistan. He said he has been visiting the twin city frequently.
