'Give me chance to be PM, I'll make prosper every citizen': Modi
Prime ministerial candidate of BJP Narendra Modi today appealed to voters to give an opportunity to his party this time to revive the development works in the country which had been stalled by the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.
Addressing a rally for party's candidates at Kurpal Ashram here this evening, he said the Congress ruled the country for past 60 years, but it could not solve the problems affecting the common people.
'Give me a chance, I will bring prosperity for every citizen in 60 months,' he said.
Criticising the UPA government, Mr Modi alleged that Congress has looted the people of the country and said common people were deprived of basic facilities which was their right.
The UPA government has failed on all fronts, such as inflation, safety and security of the common man due to the lack of vision of Congress for public, Mr Modi said and opined that their era is coming to an end now.
The Congress has accepted their defeat and their only agenda was to accuse the BJP without any reason, he alleged.
Mr Modi alleged that the UPA government could not provide development during their 10-year rule because they just looted and fooled the people.
'There is only BJP wave everywhere in the country,' he claimed and said people were expecting change in the existing system both at the Centre and also in Maharashtra.
Now time has come to eradicate the dirty system practised by the Congress, Mr Modi said and expressed hope that the BJP will win with a huge margin in the state.
'We have to give a new direction to this country,' he said and appealed to people to vote for BJP.
Continuing his attack on Congress, Mr Modi further said Congress has betrayed the widows of many soldiers who had sacrificed their life during the Kargil war.
He said Congress had promised the widows of soldiers a house, but till date nothing has been done for them.
'Every one is fed up of the UPA government and people have to teach a good lesson to them in this election,' Modi said.
The people have lost faith in Congress and are eagerly waiting to see the new face in Delhi, he said.
He alleged that the Congress has failed to give a stable Chief Minister for Maharashtra and said in a sarcastic tone that every candidate nominated was an 'Adarsh' candidate.
He accussed Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi of not solving the people's problems.
He appealed to the youth that future of this country was in their hands and said they have to decide their leader in this election.
He said the country has 70 crore youth who can take the country on top rank through their talent.
Mr Modi expressed confidence that BJP candidate Dilip Gandhi will win with comfortable margin.
Besides Mr Gandhi, BJP's Shirdi LS constituency candidate Sadashiv Lokhande, state BJP president Devendra Fadanvis and RPI president Ramdas Athavle were also present at the rally and appealed to the public to vote for the party.
