NTR's son Balakrishna to contest from Hindupu
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today confirmed that popular Telugu Film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, the 53-year -old son of TDP founder NT Rama Rao will contest from Hindupur Assembly segment in Anantapur of Rayalaseema, the segment once represented three times by his father and elder brother Harikrishna.
Several fans and supporters of Balakrishna gathered near party president N Chandrababu Naidu's Jubilee Hills residence and celebrated the news by cutting a cake.
They swore that their hero will break earlier records by winning Hindupur seat with thumping majority.
For the past few days, rumours have been abuzz that Balakrishna, who is the brother in-law of Mr Naidu, is keen on contesting in elections and some of his fans had staged protests in few locations across the state urging Chandrababu Naidu, the head of TDP, to give a ticket to Balakrishna. Balakrishna will be filing his nomination on April 17 and will begin campaigning for the party. TDP believes that his (Balakrishna) presence will help to win other seats in Anantapur district.
