The Opposition DMK in Tamil Nadu today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) seeking stringent action against those distributing money to voters on behalf of the AIADMK and police and revenue officials helping them in the task.


In the complaint with Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath here today, copies of which were released to the press here, DMK Organisation Secretary PV Kalyanasundaram alleged the AIADMK planned to distribute money to voters in all villages with the help of some police and revenue officials, especially during nightime.

He requested the EC to take serious measures to prevent distribution of money to voters besides initiating stringent action against those distributing the money as well as the officials helping them in the task.

He also requested the EC to close and seal all illegal mines and mineral quarry through whose operators the AIADMK planned to distribute money to voters.

He also alleged that the party received information that money will be distributed to voters along with salary for 100 days work schemes in villages and also through NGOs.

Hence, he requested the EC to depute Election Officials during disbursement of salary besides monitoring NGOs and their bank accounts.
