Pinarayi Vijayan visits TP murder case convict
CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today visited Kannur Central jail and interacted with TP Chandraskeharan murder case convict P K Kunhanathan.
Jail sources said Mr Vijayan reached central jail at about 1000 hrs and spent nearly 20 minutes. He interacted with Kunhanadhan at jailers room in the presence of one of the jail staff. However, he could not see other life imprisonment K C Ramachandran and others in the case. Mr James Mathew, MLA, also accompanied Mr Vijayan.
Later E P Jayarajan, MLA, T V Rajesh, MLA, and CPI(M) leader P K Sreemathi, who was also the LDF candidate of Kannur constituency, reached the special jail and women jail today.
Talking to newspersons, Ms Sreemathi said the denial of voting rights to remand prisoners was injustice.
