With DMDK leader Vijayakanth announcing the party's support to PMK in Puducherry, the local leadership today asked the All India NR Congress not to use the name and flag of DMDK during it's election campaign.

Selvam alias Selvaraj, in-charge of the party Puducherry unit, today told newspersons that since, the party leader Vijayakanth announced party's support to the PMK in Puducherry, the party cadre here would undertake electioneering in support of PMK candidate Anantharaman.

He also said that Vijayakanth will visit Puducherry to canvass for Anantharaman.

Chief Minister and AINRC President N Rangasamy had announced the candidature of R Radhakrishnan in the BJP alliance which was later endorsed by the BJP.

However, the PMK had announced the candidature of Anantharaman months earlier to contest in allaince with the BJP and Mr Anantharaman refused to withdraw his candidature in favour of the AINRC canddiate.

This created a confusion among the alliance partners whom to support and finally the MDMK and DMDK had announced its support to the PMK which was in alliance with the BJP in Tamil Nadu.

Puucherry jgoes to polls on April 24.
