Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa today alleged that DMK did not fulfill any of its 2009 poll promises and acted against the interests of Tamils on issues like Cauvery river water dispute, FDI in retail and Mullaperiyar Dam issue among others.

Addressing an election rally here Ms Jayalalithaa charged that the DMK was in power at the Centre and in Tamil Nadu, but it did not fulfill any of its poll promises made during the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.

She charged DMK president M Karunanidhi that he had done litt;e to force the Centre to publish the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

"In the case of Mullaperiyar Dam issue against Kerala, the DMK was reluctant to question the centre's action which was against the interests of Tamil Nadu", she charged.

She said DMK was only making false propaganda that her government had not fulfilled the promises made during the 2011 assembly elections.

Ms Jayalalithaa claimed out of the 177 promises the AIADMK has made, 150 were being implemented by her government.

The DMK had mentioned about reservation policy in private sector in its 2004 poll manifesto, but it did not do anything to fulfill it while it was in power at the Centre for nearly ten years.

She sarcastically said she wondered whether the reservation policy was being followed in the business entities belonging to Mr Karunanidhi's family members.

Ms Jayalalithaa said the time was ripe now to get what was needed for the state from the Centre and sought the people's votes for her party candidates in the general elections.

She also urged the people to oust the corrupt United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre.
