A high-pitched campaign for the April 10 elections from 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala where the Congress-led UDF and Marxist-led LDF have locked horns in a fierce battle ended on a peaceful note today.

Convergence of campaign vehicles and party workers at major centres in each constituency to exhibit their show of strength marked the conclusion of the month-long hectic campaign at 1800 hrs.

Police said the campaign was peaceful with no major untoward incident reported from any part of the state.

Though the main fight was between the UDF and the LDF, the BJP this time launched a major campaign, hoping to open its account this time in the state for the first time.
