Issue show cause notices to Polling officers in AP: Collector
East Godavari Collector and District Election Authority Neethu Kumari today asked the concerned returning officers to issue show cause notices to those polling officers and assistant polling officers who abstained from the election training classes.
"It is mandatory on the part of the polling officers and assistant polling officers to attend to the election training classes. Any leniency in this regard would not be tolerated," she warned while inaugurating the election training classes to the Returning and assistant returning officers at Collectorate here today.
She advised the returning officers to be impartial and independent in dealing with the election process strictly adhering to the election commission guidelines.
"From the day of nominations to the conclusion of the elections the returning officers should be more careful in discharging of their election duties and ensure that elections are conducted flawless.
"They should also hold meetings with all the political parties at each Assembly constituency level and create awareness among them on the procedure involved in filing of the nominations," she added.
Later Deputy Collector Vasantharao, who received special training at state level, gave a power point presentation on the precautions to be taken by returning officers and presiding officers.
Returning officers for Amalapuram Lok Sabha constituency R Mutyalaraju, Rajahmundry constituency Gandham Chandrudu and additional joint collector Markandeyulu, DRO Yadagiri took part in the deliberations.
