Senior Congress leader and Union Minister for Shipping and Ports G K Vasan today exuded confidence that the Congress will win all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.


Talking to newspersons on the sidelines of election campaign in support of Congress candidate for Madurai Lok Sabha constituency T N Bharath Nachiappan, here he said the Congress was relying on the strength of major schemes implemented over the past decade, which were vital for the development of the state, he added.

He said the DMK and Congress alliance had won all the 40 LS seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in 2004 Parliament elections and again the same alliance won 75 per cent of seats in 2009 polls. "But this time they (DMK) missed us and would realise their fault after the poll," he said.

On AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi's campaigning in Tamil Nadu, he said the campaigning dates of Mr Gandhi would be announced soon.

He said the Congress would become the foremost political power in the state and would emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha polls.
