The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) which had forged an electoral alliance are engaged in giving final touches to the lists of candidates for the ensuing general elections.

Party sources here today indicated the lists of both the parties were almost ready and may be released soon.

The BJP-TDP seat-sharing accord was reached ignoring severe opposition by a section of partymen from both the parties to the poll pact.

An immediate fallout of the pact was the resignation of TDP politburo member Zahid Ali Khan in protest against the TDP forging the alliance with the 'communal' BJP.

President of the BJP's Warangal district unit Ashok Reddy also quit in protest.

The Congress was also busy preparing the list of its nominees for Lok Sabha and Assembly in Seemandhra.

Andhra is going to the polls in two phases April 30 and May 7.
