Communist Party of India Tamil Nadu State Secretary T Pandiyan today alleged that AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa showed 'lethargic attitude' towards Left parties and would realise her 'mistake' on May 16, the date of counting for the Lok Sabha elections.

Canvassing votes for his party nominee for Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency S Krishnan at Thirumayam near here, he recalled that when the annual income of the Union Government was Rs 500 crore, several industrial projects and construction of dams were carried out across the country, but now when the government's annual income had touched Rs 16 lakh crore, the Government was unable to tackle even country's drought situation.

He said there were several scientists and experts who had prepared a detailed report for linking of national rivers 40 years ago but no government at the centre till today had a mind to implement such proposal.

He claimed that a huge sum of Rs 70 lakh crore of Indian capitalists and politicians was kept in Swiss banks.

"From 1947 to 1951, our one rupee was equivalent to one Dollar, whereas now, ours Rs 64 is equivalent to one Dollar," he said and asked how the value of Indian rupee decreased ?.

He said those who were involved in Rs 1.76 lakh crore scandal in 2G spectrum allocation and Rs 1.8 lakh crore coal blocks allocation scandal were now seeking election in the April 24 Lok Sabha polls.

He alleged that the Indian crorepatis indirectly projected Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister and Tamil Nadu political leaders like Mr Vaiko, Mr Vijaykanth and Dr Ramadoss were also supporting him.

Mr Pandiayn pointed out that it was well known to every body on what happened in 2002 in Gujarat. Even some mosques were demolished with help of police and a few police officials had been convicted for 12 years imprisonment by the competitive courts, he claimed.
He wondered what be happen to the minorities, if Mr Modi become the prime minister of the country.

He criticised Tamil Nadu politicians like Mr Vaiko, Mr Vijaykanth and Dr Ramadoss, who he alleged had vehemently opposed Koodangulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu.

Mr Pandiyan asked why those, who were opposed to the genocide against Tamils of Mullivaikkal in Sri Lanka, had not protested against such incidents that took against Muslim minorities in Gujarat.

He said Ms Jayalalithaa had earlier claimed that she would be the next prime minister and her party would win all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and now she is saying that the AIADMK would take part in the new government at the Centre but had not said whom would lead the new government at the Centre.

He claimed that the left parties with the support of the like minded parties would provide a corruption-free government and solve the problem of drought by linking national rivers.
