Development emerging as main issue: Uma
BJP Vice-President and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti, who is trying her poll fortune from Jhansi, today said that development and associated matters are emerging as the chief issue in the general elections.
"The proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya is a subject of faith for me and others," she said in a chat with the media here, prior to departing for Jhansi.
Responding to queries regarding her health, Ms Bharti said that she informed BJP bigwigs earlier in that context. She would follow physicians' counsel, contest from Jhansi and also hit the campaign trail.
"I will reach Jhansi on April 17 to campaign for Ms Bharti and remain in the constituency till voting day," her supporter and former legislator Narendra Birthare told UNI over phone.
Mr Birthare is shouldering the responsibility of Guna-Shivpuri constituency.
After submitting her nomination papers on Friday, Ms Bharti addressed meetings at a couple of places and then reached here as she was indisposed. Ms Bharti was adviced rest. After her temperature returned to normal, she left for Jhansi.
