4 killed, 2 injured in 2 road accidents of Tamil Nadu
Four persons, including two girls aged seven and five were, killed and two others, including a boy, were injured in two different road accidents in Pudukkottai and Tiruchirapalli Districts of Tamil Nadu today.
Police said three persons, including two girls, were killed on the spot and a four-year-old boy was injured when their a two wheeler collided with a speeding sand-ladden lorry at Vadugaptti village in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu today. Police said the deceased were identified as Settu (38), a traffic police constable attached to Pudukkottai town traffic wing and his daughters Lawanya and Kavya.
The deceased's son Kiran was admitted to Government Hospital Keeranur, police added. In another accident, a 40-year-old padayatra pilgrim was killed and another was injured when a speeding car ploughed into the padayatra pilgrims crowd at Muthupudayanpatti village on the Tiuchirapalli-Dindigul National Highway in Tiruchirapalli district today.
Police said the injured pilgrims Sivaganam (40) and Bala Subramaniyan (40) of Gandarvakottai in Pudukkotai district were rushed to Government hospital Manaparai, where Sivaganam succumbed to his injuries.
Balasubramaniyan was referred to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government hospital Tiruchirapally, police added. Hospital Tiruchirapalli, police added.
